ICICI Bank on Wednesday announced the introduction of a self-service delivery facility, whereby its consumers can avail facilities like their debit card, credit card, cheque book and return-check from the branch near their home or office. The bank has introduced the 'iBox' facility in more than 50 branches in 17 cities of the country. The feature is particularly useful for customers who are not available at home to receive their package during working hours. The 'iBox' terminals have been set up outside the premises of the bank's branches which are available even after official hours. In terms of security, it is equipped with an OTP based authentication system and can be used by customers on their registered mobiles including all holidays. 24x7 can be accessed using the number. In this facility, the consumer is informed about the current status of their package through SMS in every step. As soon as a package arrives at the 'iBox' terminal, information is sent to the subscriber via an SMS containing details of the GPS location of the 'iBox', an OTP and a QR code. The consumer may then have to go to the 'iBox' terminal, enter their registered mobile number and feed the OTP, or show the QR code to open the box and access the package. Receive stays in the 'iBox' terminal for 7 days, during which the consumer can collect it at any time of the day. The 'iBox' brings more flexibility to the customers and also eliminates the need to visit the branch during busy hours of work.
