IED blast near Quetta, four Pakistani paramilitary men were killed

QUETTA: A bomb on an FC convoy in the Sangan region of Quetta's Sibi district on Tuesday killed at least four Pakistan Frontier Corps (FC) men and injured ten others, officials said, report read.

The detonation was triggered by an improvised explosive device, according to Sibi Assistant Commissioner Sana Mahjabeen (IED). Six of the ten injured servicemen were in critical condition, she claimed, and were being treated at Sibi's Combined Military Hospital.

Meanwhile, Mir Zia Langove, Adviser to the Balochistan Chief Minister on Home Affairs, denounced the event, saying in a statement that the injured FC personnel should receive the finest medical treatment possible.He also expressed sorrow for those who died as a result of the explosion."Through such heinous deeds, terrorists are attempting to sabotage peace in Balochistan," he said.

Separately, Farah Azeem Shah, a spokesperson for the Balochistan administration, condemned the event and expressed grief over the deaths.

She said security personnel had played a "exemplary" role in maintaining calm in Balochistan, and that "anti-Pakistan elements were attempting to destroy peace in Balochistan." The blast on the FC convoy came a week after a suicide bomber killed six security personnel and injured 22 people, including 19 law enforcement officers, along the route of President Arif Alvi's motorcade in Sibi.
