Relief to farmers, IFFCO cuts retail price of fertilizers by Rs 50

New Delhi: IFFCO has given a big relief for farmers as it has cut the retail price of fertilizers including di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) by up to Rs 50 per packet. IFFCO Managing Director U.S Avasthi said, "In view of the global reduction in the prices of raw materials and finished fertilizers, we have reduced the retail price of DAP and all the crude fertilizers." As per the new prices, IFFCO's 50 kg DAP packet will be available for Rs 1,200 instead of Rs 1,250.

At the same time, NPK-1 will be available for Rs 1175. While the price of NPK-2 will be Rs 1185 per packet. The reduced price of NP will be Rs 950 per packet. These new prices have been fixed including GST and have come into effect from Friday. However, there has been no reduction in the price of neem coated urea. Its price is intact at Rs 266.50 per packet ([45 kg)] as before.

Neem coated urea is controlled by the government. IFFCO last cut the price of complex fertilizers including DAP in July this year. The price of 45 kg packet of Neem coated urea is Rs. 266.50. IFFCO had earlier lowered the prices of DAP and complex fertilizers in July this year. Farmers are expected to get a big relief from this cut.
