IMD predicts rains for these states for next 3-4 hours

New Delhi:  The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted that some areas of Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands would get mild to moderate rain in the ensuing 3–4 hours. IMD further indicated that Monday's higher elevations of Uttarakhand might experience rain and hail.

According to the IMD, "latest satellite imagery shows the possibility of light to moderate rain spells accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds activity over some areas of Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during next 3–4 hours."

IMD issued an orange alters for Uttarakhand on Monday, with rain and hailstorms possible in the state's higher elevations and rain and thunder in its lowlands. In the highest altitudes of Uttarakhand, there is a possibilisty  of rain and hailstorm today. Thunder and rain are possible across the plains, according to IMD. Rain is anticipated in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Rudraprayag as well as light precipitation in Bageshwar, Almora, and Pithoragarh, according to the meteorological department. Winds gusting to 70 km/h have also been warned of by the meteorological department.

In the meanwhile, early on Monday morning, rain pelted portions of the nation's capital, providing reprieve from the heat. On Sunday night, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted dust storms and rain for areas of Delhi-NCR.

The weather department on Saturday issued an orange alert for Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, North-East Rajasthan and said that there is a possibility of thunderstorms in Delhi for the next 3-4 days.
