Imitating SpiceJet and IndiGo, AirAsia also not charge extra for rescheduling travel date

AirAsia India in a press release that it will not charge any fee for changing time and date on tickets booked till 15 May. The Air Asia announced this offer to give passengers flexibility amid "increased uncertainty and travel restrictions.

“To ensure that its customers continue to have the greatest flexibility if their travel plans change with increased uncertainty and travel restrictions, the airline has extended this offer on its new website www.airAsia.co.in as well as other major booking channels,” it said.

IndiGo on the weekend said it will not charge any fees to change time or date on domestic tickets that are booked between 17 April and 30 April. Under this offer, the ticket can be booked between this duration for any travel period.

SpiceJet also said passengers will not be charged any fees for changing date or time in their tickets at least five days prior to the departure date.

As states such as Maharashtra and Delhi are going under partial or full lockdown due to rising COVID-19 cases, the airlines are giving more incentives to passengers so that they do not cancel all their travel plans. SpiceJet on Saturday said it has also introduced special discounted price for an array of add-on services such as SpiceMax (seats with extra legroom).
