The government is focusing on infrastructure development to bring India's economy up to five trillion dollars compared to the world. In this episode, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has said to emphasize on the development of ports. Naidu said that the infrastructure development of ports is very important for the five trillion dollar economy. He asked the responsible authorities to provide energy-saving and environment-friendly facilities at the ports. In his statement, the Vice President further said that we should be prepared to deal with climate change. India is a country with a long coastline. In such a situation, the role of ports becomes very important for foreign trade. Let us tell you that they talked about the development of domestic ports on the lines of international ports. Naidu advised making a maximum profit through better utilization of the resources of the ports. The Vice President said that we need to build more transhipment hubs near the shoreline. Vice President Naidu was discussing with the heads of various big port trusts in a thinker meeting organized by the Ministry of Shipping at Mamallapuram. He stressed on improving the coasts for the sustainable development of the country. The three-day contemplation meeting will end on Sunday. The purpose of this meeting is to identify the challenges faced in the development of ports and to outline measures to deal with them.
