Imran Khan's last attempt to save PM's chair, Punjab CM made scapegoat

Islamabad: Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has now entered into a political bargain to save his chair. Imran Khan, who is facing a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly of Pakistan's Parliament, has removed his party leader from the CM's chair of Punjab province and given it to the ally. Now the CM of Punjab province will be Pervez Elahi.

Elahi is the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q). PML-Q is an ally of Imran's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The PML-Q has 5 MPs in the National Assembly. Before Elahi, Usman Bazdar was the CM of Punjab. Usman Bazdar has tendered his resignation on Monday evening. After the resignation of Usman Bazdar, the PML-Q leaders met  PM Imran Khan late in the evening and announced his support in Parliament.

Imran has also intensified efforts to bring the ongoing Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) together. According to Pakistani media, a meeting was held on Monday between the leaders of PTI and MQM-P. Imran's support in this meeting has almost been confirmed. It is being told that Imran has agreed to hand over the maritime ministry to MQM-P.
