In this state not only humans but animals also get one day 'week off'.

Have you ever heard that on the lines of humans, animals and cattle are also given a weekly holiday. If you haven't heard, then tell that bulls and other cattle are not used on Sundays in Latehar in Jharkhand. On this day they are off which means only rest is given so that they can get fresh by removing their tiredness of the week. This tradition is more than 100 years old in more than 20 villages of Latehar in Jharkhand.

The relation of affinity between humans and animals of Latehar is from birth to birth. In such a situation, humans have been taking care of the comfort and convenience of animals for years. Due to the hard work and cooperation of animals, the hunger of the people in the world goes away. To give rest to these hard working animals, people have also made a rule in some villages of Latehar. The rule is that animals are given a day off here in a week. Means no work is done with animals on Sundays. The tradition of giving cattle one day off in a week is prevalent in several other villages including Harkha, Mongar, Lalgadi and Pakrar in Latehar district.

The people of the village believe that the rules made by their forefathers are very logical, because just like humans need rest, similarly animals also need rest. Animals help humans in their livelihood on the basis of their hard work. In such a situation, it is also the duty of humans to take care of the welfare of animals.
