Ingredients for making Tomato Chutney:

Tomatoes: 5-6 (large size) Red chillies: 4-5 (according to taste) Garlic: 5-6 cloves Coriander leaves: a handful Asafoetida: a pinch Salt: according to taste Oil: 2-3 tablespoons Mustard: half a teaspoon

Method for making Tomato Chutney:

First of all, wash tomatoes, red chillies, garlic and coriander leaves thoroughly. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to it. When the mustard seeds start crackling, add garlic and red chillies and fry lightly. Now add tomatoes to it and cook until the tomatoes become soft. After the tomatoes are cooked, grind them in a mixer along with coriander leaves. Prepare the chutney by adding salt and asafoetida as per taste. Your hot tomato chutney is ready. You can serve it with any food.

Some special tips:

If you like it more spicy, you can add green chillies. If you want a mild sweet taste, add a little jaggery. Store the chutney in the fridge to keep it fresh.
