Travel on buses has now increased due to the shortage of trains

The cancellation of the trains coincided with the RTC. In Rajahmundry, the Railway Department is modernizing the signaling system along with non-interlocking works. As a result, 38 express and superfast trains between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam have been canceled. These will not run from December 25 to January 8. Currently there are only 10–12 trains running daily between the two cities. In this context, RTC buses have become an alternative.

Travel on buses has now increased due to the shortage of trains. Occupancy between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, which was 84 per cent on this route before December 25, has now increased to 93. Prior to December 25, 16 schedules were added to Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada and 25 additional services were added. According to RM Nagendra Prasad, the daily revenue of the region has increased from Rs 1.04 crore as on December 25 to Rs 1.15 crore on December 31.
