Visakhapatnam: Today is the second day of the first Test match between India and South Africa. By the end of the lunch till the second day, the Indian team had scored 324 runs for the loss of one wicket. Cheteshwar Pujara came to bat after Rohit Sharma fell the first wicket and did not allow any more wickets to fall in the first session of the second day. India have laid the foundation for a big score against South Africa on the basis of superb openings of Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal.

Playing beyond the score of 202 on the first day, Rohit and Mayank added 115 runs in the first wicket partnership on the second day. India's first wicket fell as Rohit Sharma at a score of 317 runs. Rohit was dismissed after playing a brilliant inning of 176 runs. Keshav Maharaj took the wicket of Rohit. After Rohit Sharma's brilliant innings, Mayank Agarwal hit his first Test century on the second day. After playing 204 balls, Mayank crossed the 100-run mark for the first time in the 5th Test. This innings saw 13 fours and two sixes.

Rohit Sharma, who landed as an opener for the first time, played brilliant innings of 176 runs in this match against South Africa. Rohit scored 176 runs in 244 balls which included 23 fours and 6 sixes. Rohit Sharma is just the second batsman to score more than 150 runs in the first innings for India as an opener. Shikhar Dhawan did this against Australia in his first Test.
