Ind vs SA: India's big start, Rohit Sharma hits ton

Visakhapatnam: The first match of the three-Test series between India and South Africa started in Visakhapatnam from Wednesday. Rohit Sharma scored a century in the match. Rohit Sharma was included in the team for the first time as an opener for the Test series being played against South Africa.

Rohit justified the selection by scoring a century in the first innings of the Visakhapatnam Test. Rohit was selected as an opener in the Test team against South Africa after KL Rahul flopped in successive openings. Rohit Sharma started off with an excellent century against South Africa, starting the Indian innings for the first time after playing 27 Tests. 

In this innings he hit 10 fours while scoring 4 sky-high sixes. Facing 84 balls, Rohit completed his half-century with the help of 5 fours and two sixes. Rohit Sharma made his debut in 2013 against West Indies, playing his first Test match of his career. Rohit scored an excellent century while playing the first Test against West Indies in Kolkata. In this match, he scored an innings of 177 runs.
