New York: The I2U2 Group, comprising India, the United States, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has initiated a Private Enterprise Partnership to raise awareness of its collaborative endeavors within business communities and to support projects aligned with its objectives. The four-nation alliance also introduced its official website, aimed at fostering cooperation among member countries and forging global partnerships. The announcement was made during the I2U2 Sherpas meeting held in New York on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The launch event saw the participation of prominent figures representing the respective nations, including Dammu Ravi, Secretary (Economic Relations) at India's Ministry of External Affairs; Ronen Levi, Director-General of Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Foreign Affairs for the UAE; and Jose W. Fernandez, Under Secretary at the US Department of State. As per an official press release, the I2U2 Private Enterprise Partnership was formally established through an agreement between the US Department of State and several key entities, including the US-UAE Business Council, the UAE-Israel Business Council, and the UAE-India Business Council. The primary objectives of this public-private partnership are to increase awareness of the I2U2 Initiative, particularly within the business communities, and to actively support projects that align with the initiative's overarching goals. The memorandum of understanding underscores the focus on seven key sectors: water, energy, transportation, technology, space, health, and food security. In line with its mission, the partnership seeks to mobilize the private sectors of the I2U2 countries, enabling them to identify, explore, and participate in specific projects that further the objectives set forth by the initiative. A press release issued by the US Department of State emphasized the partnership's role in enhancing awareness of the I2U2 initiative and supporting projects that advance its goals within the business community. Dammu Ravi, Secretary (Economic Relations) at India's Ministry of External Affairs, provided insights into the development during the I2U2 Sherpas meeting in New York. He highlighted the launch of the I2U2 website, designed to facilitate cooperation among India, Israel, the US, and the UAE, as well as to encourage global partnerships. The meeting also marked the inauguration of the I2U2 Private Enterprise Partnership. Established in the preceding year, the I2U2 Group focuses on identifying viable projects and initiatives aimed at addressing some of the world's most pressing challenges. The initiative places particular emphasis on collaborative investments and new endeavors in the areas of water, energy, transportation, space, health, food security, and technology, as outlined on the newly launched website.
