The much-awaited squad announcement will take place during a press conference in Mumbai, scheduled to begin at 12:30 PM Indian time. Team captain Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar, chairman of the men’s selection committee, will be present to address the media. Squad Selection Details The Men’s Selection Committee will finalize India’s lineup for both the IDFC First Bank ODI series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy. India’s Upcoming Cricket Calendar Before diving into the ODI series, India will face England in a five-match T20I series starting January 22. The first T20I is set to be held in Kolkata, followed by matches in Chennai on January 25, Rajkot on January 28, Pune on January 31, and Mumbai on February 2. The action will then shift to the three-match ODI series, commencing on February 6. The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to run from February 19 to March 9, following a hybrid model with games hosted in Pakistan and the UAE, where India will play all its matches. The prestigious tournament features eight teams competing in a 50-over format, with 15 matches in total. India’s campaign begins on February 20 against Bangladesh, followed by a much-awaited clash with Pakistan on February 23 in Dubai. The final league game will see India face New Zealand on March 2. Group B features the Cricket World Cup 2023 champions Australia, alongside Afghanistan, England, and South Africa.
