New Delhi: The coronavirus menace in the country is now receding. In fact, new cases are now showing a decline. This decline has been taking place continuously for the last seven days. The positivity rate has come down below 20% in the last one week. At the same time, there is a decline in active cases at present. The shortfall is said to be more than 1.5 lakh. Looking at a report, the figures for the last seven days show that the daily cases have come down. While 3.91 lakh cases were registered last Saturday, 3.43 lakh cases were registered on Thursday. But the death toll is increasing every day. The seven-day average is about 4,000 deaths per day and the number of deaths is steadily increasing. It looks as if this number may remain the same for some more time. The average mortality rate has shown a marginal decline in the last two days. If we look at the figures, according to them, the cases of Covid-19 are coming down in rural areas. However, one of the main reasons for the low case is low testing. The test positivity rate (TPR) in the country has come down in the last seven days. Eventually, country recorded TPR 19.5% on May 8-14, before it was 22.4% in the last seven days, and also indicates a clear decline in the transition rate. Looking at the data released by the Health Ministry last Saturday, 3,26,098 new covid-19 cases have been reported in India in the last 24 hours, while 3890 people have died during this period. After the new infection cases, the total number of infected people in the country has crossed 24.3 million, while so far 266,207 people have died of the deadly virus.
