THIRUVANADAPURAM: Indian and the Sri Lankan cricket teams reachedhere on Friday for the third one-day international (ODI) match to be played at the Greenfield International Stadium, Karyavattom, on Sunday. Team India has already clinched the 3-match ODI series by winning the first two matches. At the Baraspara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday, the Men in Blue defeated Dasun Shanaka's Sri Lanka by a score of 67 runs in the inaugural one-day international (January 10). When the action turns to Thiruvananthapuram, Rohit and company will try to wrap up the series decisively, while the visitors will try to recover and win a consolation game before they return home. The first ever ODI between India and Sri Lanka will take place at the Greenfield International Stadium, which has only previously hosted one ODI. At the location, India and West Indies played one ODI nearly five years ago in 2018. That game had few goals scored in it. The most recent international match to take place there was the series opener against South Africa in September 2022. The venue has, however, held four international games overall, including the three T20Is.
