India writes letter to WHO over showing wrong map of India

Geneva: India's borders are being repeatedly misrepresented in the World Health Organization (WHO) maps. India has strongly objected to it and warned the international institution for the third time. India has written a letter to WHO chief Tedros Edhanom asking them to rectify the mistake. According to media reports, India has said in a very strong vein in the letter that the wrong map should be corrected immediately.

The Indian side has written a letter on this issue for the third time in the last one month. Earlier, a letter has been written to the WHO chief twice in December. Last week, India's permanent representative to the United Nations, Indra Mani Pandey, briefed the WHO chief in this regard. India has said that its boundaries are not being properly shown in the videos and maps on who's portals. In a letter to the WHO chief on January 8, he wrote, "I express my great displeasure at the misrepresentation of India's borders in maps on various web portals of WHO."

He further wrote, "In this case, I would also like to remind us of our previous messages sent to WHO, in which we talked about these mistakes. I request you to stop wrongly displaying the borders of India by looking at the immediate interference in the matter. Please use the right maps. "
