Davis Cup: India beat Pakistan, leads with 3-0

New Delhi: Indian tennis team has confirmed its victory by defeating Pakistan in 3 consecutive matches in the Davis Cup. India won the third match on Saturday after winning a 2–0 lead in the Davis Cup tie. Ramkumar Ramanathan and Sumit Nagal won on Friday.

India has a 3–0 lead in the 5 matches and now Pakistan cannot win it by winning the last 2 matches. On Saturday, India have won their third consecutive win, continuing their winning streak. India's veteran Leander Paes teamed up with Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan to win the doubles and ensure India's victory. This was Leander Paes's record 44th doubles win in the Davis Cup.

Earlier on Friday, India won by Ramkumar Ramanathan and Sumit Nagal. On the first day, both these players gave India an edge by showing excellent game. Ramkumar won the first match for India and defeated 17-year-old Moh. Shoaib in just 42 minutes. The match was one-sided and Ramkumar won in straight sets. India won 6–0, 6–0 in this match.

India's young star Sumit Nagal, who landed in the second match, also showed a strong game. He recorded his first win in the Davis Cup.  In the singles against Hufaija Moh. Rehman, Sumit defeated the Pak player in just 64 minutes. They won the match 6–0, 6–2.
