INDIA Vs SL: Madushanka injured, doubtful for 2nd ODI at Eden

KOLKATA:  Dilshan Madushanka, an all-around player for Sri Lanka, has a right shoulder injury and is doubtful for the second ODI against India that will be played at the Eden Gardens later on Thursday.

Madushanka, who was playing in his first ODI at Guwahati when the injury occurred, was sent for an X-ray and an MRI, Sri Lanka Cricket said in a tweet on Wednesday.

The Sri Lankan team management will decide whether he will play in the second ODI on Thursday after receiving the reports. Meanwhile, there was another injury concern for the visitors.

"Just before the toss of the first ODI, Chamika Karunaratne's upper lip was injured by a ball. The team's medical staff advised him to participate in the game after receiving three sutures. His availability for the second ODI is anticipated "In another tweet, Sri Lanka Cricket provided information.

At the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, India won the first one-day international by 67 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, despite a courageous unbeaten 108 from visitors' skipper Dasun Shanaka.

In that game, Madushanka made his debut and grabbed 1-43 in six overs as India scored a mammoth 373/7 in their allotted 50 overs. In the game, Madushanka didn't bat.
