India to win medals in 'double digit' to host Olympics

New Delhi: If India wants to host the 2032 Olympic Games, it will have to start winning a medal in 'double digits'. Batra was recently elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IA) and was felicitated by the Indian Athletics Federation at its annual general meeting.

"We are competing to host the Olympics in 2032, the Asian Games in 2030 and the Youth Olympic Games in 2026," Batra said. If we do not win more medals at the Olympics, it will be difficult to win a host. People will say that India has won very few medals in the Olympics. ''

"We have to win medals in double digits. We have to win medals from 10 to 12 at the Tokyo Olympics, 25 in 2024 and about 40 medals at the 2028 Olympics. Unless we set the target, we cannot achieve anything. I think these are the goals that can be achieved. '
