Mission all out: 630 terrorists killed by security forces in 38 months, 85 soldiers martyred

Srinagar: In the last three years, 400 encounters have taken place with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. In these encounters, 85 security personnel were killed and 630 terrorists were killed. This figure is from May 2018 to June 2021. Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has given a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday (August 4, 2021) in this regard.

Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that the government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and strengthened the security apparatus to effectively deal with the challenges posed by terrorist organizations, strict enforcement of the law against anti-national elements. Various measures such as siege and increase in search operations have been taken. Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that security forces also keep a close watch on those trying to help terrorists and take action against them. He said Jammu and Kashmir have been affected by cross-border sponsored and supported terrorist violence.

On Tuesday (August 3, 2021), the government had said that only six incidents of ceasefire violations took place in Jammu and Kashmir since India and Pakistan agreed in February to abide by all agreements relating to cross-border firing along the Line of Control (LOC) and the International Border (IB). Nityanand Rai said that there were 5,133 incidents of ceasefire violations in 2020, 3,479 in 2019, and 2,140 in 2018.
