The Indian boxer Gaurav Bidhuri today is scheduled to play the semi-final encounter in the bantamweight (56kg) category of World Boxing Championships against the American Duke Regan. He will try to book his place in the finals of the World Boxing Championships and if he manages to win it then he will become the first Indian boxer to win a medal better than bronze at the prestigious championships. He got a last minute wild card entry in the ongoing tournament and in the quarterfinals defeated Tunisian boxer Bilel Mhamdi by 3-0.
