Indian boxers has bagged three gold medals, and two silver and four bronze, at the recently concluded Cologne Boxing World Cup held in Koln, Germany. Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju shared the big news on his official Twitter handle on Sunday, he tweeted, "Our Indian boys and girls have won nine medals including three gold, two silver and four bronze medals at the prestigious Cologne Boxing World Cup". "India has achieved tremendous progress in boxing. My hearty congratulations to our star boxers!" he added. Gold medal winners are ace Indian pugilists Amit Panghal (flyweight 52kg), Manisha Moun (57 kg) and Simranjit Kaur (60kg) in their respective weight categories. The silver medal winners are Sakshi Choudhary (57 kg), two-time AIBA Women's Youth World Champion and heavy weight boxer Satish Kumar (+91kg) in his weight category. Sonia Lather (57kg), Pooja Rani (75kg) Gaurav Solanki (57kg) and Mohamed Hussamudin (57kg) has won bronze medals. The Cologne Boxing World Cup was one of the last highlights of the pandemic-hit season played in Köln, Germany; and in the finals were held on Saturday night. Five women and eight men boxers from India were registered to the Cologne Boxing World Cup following their strong preparations in Italy.
