TORONTO – A 21-year-old Indian student was fatally shot at the entrance to a Toronto subway station. Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar expressed his sorrow at the killing. "I am deeply saddened by this unfortunate event. "My heartfelt sympathies to the family," Jaishankar wrote on Twitter. Kartik Vasudev was shot multiple times near the entrance to the Sherbourne subway station, which is close to the Indian Consulate in Toronto, at 5 p.m. on Thursday. According to Toronto Police, officers responded to a radio complaint for a gunshot at the Sherbourne TTC Subway station. An off-duty paramedic originally attended to the victim, who had multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital and died as a result of his injuries. Police are searching for a black individual who was spotted walking away from the crime scene with a weapon. The attack's motivation is unknown. Vasudev, who was enrolled in Seneca College's marketing management degree, had arrived in Canada in January.
