New Delhi: Since the intervention of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the chances of the Indian Taekwondo team getting a chance at the South Asian Games (SAG) in Nepal next month has increased. The IOC has asked the organizers of these games to allow India to participate. On November 23, the Nepal Olympic Committee banned India's teams from archery, taekwondo, and karate for these games. Nepal says that the national federation of these games has been suspended by the world body and has not even been recognized by the National Olympic Committee. Dhoni who instructs everyone on the field obeys someone else at home The World Taekwondo (WT), the global unit of Taekwondo, has asked the organizers to allow the Indian team to participate in these games in a special talk. WT member relations and senior development director Jongkang Seo said in a letter to the organizers, "It is true that the Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) has been suspended by the WT on the issue of operations." The interim unit constituted by the Olympic Committee of India and the WT, however, takes care of the selection of players for the recognized competitions. Supporting WT, IOC's head of the NOC relations department, Jerome Paiwe, on Tuesday asked Nepal Olympic Committee chairman Jeevan Shrestha to ensure the Indian team's participation in the Games to be held from December 1 to 9. Poivey wrote in his letter, 'We fully support the views of W.T. Your NOC and Organizing Committee are requested to give India a chance to participate as per WT instructions.
