Indian team won 23 medals in Bahrain Para Badminton

Indian Para Badminton team has won 23 medals including 7 gold in the 1st Bahrain Para Badminton International Championship in Manama. Talented doubles player Manisha Ramdas won 2 gold medals while Nitya Shree Sumati Sivan (WS SH6) and D Pandurangan and Sivarajan S (doubles SH6) also won gold medals.

World number one para badminton players Pramod Bhagat and Tarun Dhillon also won gold medals. Along with Bhagat, Manisha also won gold in mixed doubles by casting votes to Thailand's Siripong Timarom and Nipada Saensupa by 21.14, 21.11. Manisha and Mandeep Kaur defeated Palak Kohli and Parul Parmar 21.11, 21.11 in the women's doubles final.

Asian youth para champion Nitya beat England's Rachael Chung 21.15, 21.15 while Mandeep was defeated by Turkey's Haleime Yidiz 21.5, 21.17 in the women's SL3 final. In doubles SH6, D Pandurangan and Sivarajan also won the gold medal after the retirement of Hong Kong's Chu Man Kei and Wong Yun Yim.
