India's women's hockey team tremendous win in Hockey World Cup 2022

India won its first win in the Women's Hockey World Cup 2022 on July 12, 2022. He defeated Canada 3-2 in the penalty shootout. By the match time, the scores of both the teams were tied at 1-1. Navneet Kaur of India was given the Player of the Match. However, the Indian women's team has been knocked out of the medal race.

The Indian team suffered a 0-1 defeat against  Spain in a crossover match played at Teresa (Spain) on July 11, 2022. That match has got to see a tough contest between the two teams for up to 3 quarters. However, just 3 minutes before the scheduled time, Marta Segu scored on the rebound to knock India out of the title race. A total of 16 teams were seen participating in the Women's Hockey World Cup. Out of these, 5 teams belong to the Confederations Nations.

Talking about the match between India and Canada, the Indian team led by goalkeeper Savita was trailing 0-1 in the first quarter. Canada's Madeline Secco converted a penalty corner into a goal in the 11th minute. Canada also got a penalty corner in the second quarter, but Kathleen Leahy could not convert it into a goal ahead of the Indian defence.
