Olympic bronze medalist Indian men's hockey team goalkeeper PR Sreejesh has entered the race for the prestigious World Games Athlete of the Year. The winner is going to be announced after the online voting process which will start from 10th January i.e. today till 31st January. A total of 24 players from all over the world have been nominated for this award. Out of these, the 10 best players will get a place in the final on 23 January. Sreejesh, a three-time Olympian named FIH's Goalkeeper of the Year 2021, has represented India in over 240 international matches. The last 12 months have been great for him and he has played a key role in helping the team win a historic bronze medal at the Tokyo Games, performing at their best. If Sreejesh gets this award, then he is going to be the second hockey player to get it. Prior to which the captain of the women's hockey team, Rani Rampal, has received this award.
