IndiGo airlifted 2717 oxygen concentrators from 5 countries to India amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The countries who led there helping hands towards India includes Thailand, China, Qatar, Hong Kong and Singapore. The second wave in the country has climbed to it’s peak, daily new records are reported in cases. The Indian airline has transported in total 4142 oxygen concentrators which weight about 72,461 kg within India or from outside India. India has been badly hit by the second wave of the coronavirus because of which hospitals in several states are reeling under a severe shortage of oxygen, drugs, equipment and beds. In a statement, airlines revealed that a massive load of other medical supplies has also been flown in on IndiGo flights to support the country. In the meantime, India records 3780 fresh Covid-19 fatalities were registered in a single day in India taking the death toll to 226188, while 382315 new coronavirus infections were recorded in the country. The health ministry data further revealed fresh cases, the Covid-19 infection tally in the country climbed to 2,06,65,148.
