Indigo and SpiceJet aircraft averted at Ahmedabad airport

SpiceJet spokesperson said its flight had to abort take off at the last stage of taxing due to the presence of another aircraft on the runway.

IndiGo said in the statement its flight 6E-166 (Bengaluru-Ahmedabad) landed normally on Runway 23 at Ahmedabad. It was advised by the ATC to vacate via taxiway. As 6E-166 was vacating the strip, the flight crew observed some rabbits and stopped the aircraft, its nose in the taxiway and tail still on the runway."

The incident happened on Friday evening and has been reported to aviation regulator DGCA.

While SpiceJet pilots maintain in their report that the IndiGo aircraft wasn't cleared off the runway when SpiceJet was ready to take off. Both the pilots reported ATC about the incident.
