Indigo surpasses 55.7% market share after Vistara, Air India

NEW DELHI: With a market share of 55.7% for domestic air travel in November, Indigo outperformed all other carriers, while Vistara took second place with a share of 9.3%.

In November, Vistara carried 10.87 lakh passengers while Indigo carried 65.01 lakh, according to data from the aviation regulator DGCA provided on Monday.

With 10.63 lakh passengers and a 9.1% market share, Air India came in third. Similar to this, Go Air had a 7.5% market share in November with 8.70 lakh passengers.

According to DGCA data, weather, technical, or operational issues accounted for the majority of the 0.25 percent cancellation rate for domestic scheduled airlines during the month. During the month, a maximum of 41.7% of flights were cancelled for technical reasons and 31.6% for weather-related issues.

The number of passengers transported by domestic airlines between January and November 2022 was 11.05 crore, up from 7.26 crore during the same time the previous year. This is an increase of 52.19 percent annually and 11.06 percent monthly.
