Indore: Family members of a deceased married woman protested at Regal Square on Monday demanding action against the woman's in-laws for allegedly killing her. According to police, a 25-yearold girl, Megha Gaur reportedly committed suicide on November 25 at her in-laws home. She was pregnant. The woman's family members said that she was murdered by her in-laws and was hanged to make it look like a suicide case. The woman's family members said that on January 26, 2018 she got married to Suraj Gaud. They alleged that Suraj and his family members used to harass Megha a lot. They alleged that her in-laws demanded dowry of Rs 10 lakh and also anything between Rs 10K and Rs 20K every month for household expenses. Police said that in October, a dispute occurred between Megha and her in-laws after which she returned to her maternal home. Both the families came to the MIG Road police station after which a settlement was done between the families and Megha again started living at her in-laws' home. Police said Megha's in-laws left her body in the hospital and gave her family details to the hospital staff. The hospital staff informed Megha's family about her death. In the case so far police have registered a case against five people and sent three of them to jail. The Megha's family members demanded the accused to get death sentence punishment.
