Mumbai: The Central government on Monday announced the move to revoke Section 370 relating to Jammu and Kashmir. Industrialists said the withdrawal will provide equal opportunities to the people of the state like other citizens of the country and speed up development. Industrialists have said that with the removal of Article 370, the BJP government has fulfilled one of its important electoral promises. Rajeev Talwar, president of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the country's premier industry body, said, "The departure will pave the way for a large scale investment in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP had included it in its manifesto at the time of the Lok Sabha elections. So, it has the support of the majority of the country. He said this step of the government is a great step for the development of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Harsh Goenka, Chief of RPG Enterprises, also described the move as a historic fortnight.
