Instagram intends to release a new text-based conversation app

USA: In the same vein as popular microblogging platforms like Twitter, Instagram is preparing to release a new text-based conversation app. You can write texts, include links and media files like photos and videos, as well as attach media files, using the app.

Users will be able to interact with content that other people have uploaded. Within a few weeks, the social media platform headed by Meta might reveal its upcoming Twitter competitor.

The platform could easily take advantage of Instagram's two billion plus users to expand the audience for its text-based app. But unless there are really fantastic advantages or perks, using this app won't make sense for people. The decision of social media users to use yet another Meta ecosystem app will therefore be very intriguing to watch.

The new text-based app will remain a standalone programme while being integrated into Instagram. The handle that a person uses on Instagram will also transfer to the new app. Additionally, verified badges will be kept.

To follow you on the new platform, your Instagram followers will receive an invitation. On Instagram, you can do the same by following the accounts that are being followed.

Users of the new app will be able to post content that includes text, links, images, and five-minute videos. It might be limited to 500 characters as opposed to Twitter's (for Blue users) 10,000.

The app will put a strong emphasis on privacy by letting users manage who can comment on their posts or mention them in other places on the platform.Additionally, Instagram's blocked accounts will be carried over.

According to the reports, Meta is reportedly contacting prominent influencers and celebrities to enlist them as beta testers and early adopters of Instagram's text-based app before it is made generally available.
