The International Day of Older Persons is celebrated on 1st October every year. On December 14, 1990, the UN General Assembly voted on October 1 to establish the International Day of Older Persons as the International Day of Older Persons, as recorded in Resolution 45/106. The first holiday was celebrated on October 1, 1991. Leave is observed by raising awareness about issues affecting the elderly, such as old age and elder abuse. It is also a day to appreciate the contribution of those who are old people to the society. This holiday is similar to the National Grandparents' Day in the United States and Canada, as well as the Double Naith Festival in China and the honor for The Old Age Day in Japan. Adherence is the focus of the United Nations program on aging organizations and aging.
