IPL 2018: RCB to don green jersey against Rajasthan

Like every year, this year also Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore will don green jersey as a part of their ‘Go Green’ initiative during the upcoming Indian Premier League T20 cricket tournament. The franchise has been continuing this practice since 2011 to promote their “Go Green” initiative. This is a move to create awareness about global warming. The RCB franchise has also been taking initiatives to plant trees and have also earlier asked the fans to travel by buses to save fuel.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will don green jersey on April 15 during their home game against Rajasthan Royals at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. As part of the programme that takes place every season, captain Kohli gives a small plant to his rival counterpart and the names of the players on the jerseys are replaced by their Twitter handles.

“We support the green initiative and this year the match will be on April 15 when RCB take on Rajasthan Royals,” Madhumita Basu, chief of sales marketing and innovation, told reporters during RCB’s jersey unveiling in Kolkata. RCB will begin their IPL season 11 campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on April 8.
