IPL 2018: SWOT analysis on Rajasthan Royals

We have already entered the pre-phase of the Indian Premier League where every franchise is busy boosting their social-connect with ad campaigns, photo shoots, and public announcements. But then, there is the Rajasthan Royals franchise, which has been silently oozing through the headlines and doing their job without much of a hush-hush. Lets SWOT analysis on Doubles R’s

Strength-

Rajasthan Royals have a significantly sorted batting line-up. With Jos Butler, D'Arcy Short, Steven Smith, Ben Stokes, Ajinkya Rahane, Rahul Tripathi, Sanju Samson, and Jofra Archer in its ranks, Rajasthan enjoys an in-depth and a varied batting line-up.

Weakness-

The primary weakness in the RR squad is their dearth of quality spin options. With Krishnappa Gowtham, Ankit Sharma, Mahipal Lomror, Shreyas Gopal, and Zahir Khan being the inexperienced campaigners, Royals fall short in this department.

Opportunity-

Royals have a good pool of young uncapped players. With no experienced spinner in the squad, RR would be highly relying on the likes of Mahipal Lomror and Krishnappa Gowtham to assist them with their all-round performance. Thus, it would be a golden opportunity for the youngsters to perform at a higher level and make their case for the international cricket.

Threat-

Currently, it seems RR is highly reliant on Unadkat in the pace department of their bowling attack. However, Unadkat's recent form is an area of concern for the team, as the right-arm seamer has undergone real bashing while opening the bowling for the Indian team in the ongoing Nidahas Trophy.
