IPL 2021: Chahar claims four wickets as Chennai thrash Punjab by 6 wickets

New Delhi: On Friday, the eighth match of the 14th season of IPL was played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). CSK's team won by 6 wickets in this match. Captain Dhoni won the toss and called the Punjab Kings to bat first. The Punjab batsmen performed quite embarrassingly and the entire team could only manage 106 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. In response, CSK achieved the target by losing four wickets in the 16th over to secure their first win of the season.

His fast bowler Deepak Chahar played a big role in helping CSK win. Chahar bowled a storm in the match. The right-handed Pacer took 4 wickets for 13 runs in his four-over quota. Chahar, with his swing, sent big batsmen to the pavilion. Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Deepak Hooda, and Nicholas Pooran were dismissed by Chahar. By sending these four legendary batsmen cheaply to the pavilion, Chahar did not give PBKS a chance to return to the match.

Coming off the small target, CSK received the initial blow as Rituraj Gaekwad. Arshdeep dismissed Rituraj for five runs. However, after that Faf du Plessis and Moin Ali brought the team to the threshold of victory. Ali scored 46 runs in 31 balls which included seven fours and a six. At the same time, du Plessis contributed an unbeaten 36 runs.
