BANGALORE: Faf du Plessis, the skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), was fined Rs 12 lakhs after his team's poor over rate during Monday night's IPL 2023 encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The Royal Challengers Bangalore were penalised for having a slow overrate against the Lucknow Super Giants in match 15 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Monday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, according to a release from the IPL. "Captain Faf du Plessis was fined Rs 12 lakhs as it was the team's first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences," it said. Avesh Khan, the pacer for the Lucknow Super Giants, has been penalised for transgressing the Code of Conduct. After scoring the game-winning run on the final pitch of the game, Avesh, who entered the game as the No. 11 batter, was seen flinging his helmet to the ground. The right-handed bowler accepted the punishment and admitted to committing level 1 offence 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct.
