Is Akshay Kumar is contesting elections? Here is what actor clarifies

Akshay Kumar’s last film, Kesari received the rave reviews from the audience and has done a great business. Today actor left his fans, followers and the internet in collective confusion. On Monday morning, the actor took to social media and posted that he's set to enter an “unknown” and “uncharted” territory.  Sharing that he's both excited and nervous as he embarks on something that he's never done before, The Rustom actor asked his fans to stay tuned for further updates. After which fans began to wonder if the actor's tweet hinted at him joining politics.

Akshay took to Twitter and wrote, “Getting into an unknown and uncharted territory today. Doing something I have never done before. Excited and nervous both. Stay tuned for updates.” soon after his tweet, several Twitter users began to wonder if the actor's tweet hinted at him joining politics.

However, the actor put an end to all rumours and speculation within hours of the tweet. Clarifying that he isn't contesting elections, Akshay expressed gratitude towards his fans for showing interest in his previous tweet.  He tweeted, “Grateful for all the interest shown in my previous tweet but just clarifying in light of some wild speculation, I am not contesting elections.”

On the work front, , the actor has a strong line up of films this year and the next. Jagan Mehta's Mission Mangal alongside Sonakshi Sinha and Vidya Balan, Raj Mehta's Good News alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani and Farhad Samji's Housefull 4.
