Football: Italian Serie A to start in first week of August

Italy Football Federation president Gabrielle Gravina has said that Serie-A will begin in the first week of August. A news agency Xinhua quoted the statement issued by the APIGC as saying, "It is the wish of Chairman Gravina that, in the next few hours, it is decided to work together with all the units to conclude the 2019-20 season on August 2. Will be postponed until "

Due to Coronavirus, football in Italy is postponed from March 9. There are 12 rounds of Serie-A left so far. This league was earlier scheduled to end by May 24. The FIGC's statement comes hours after UEFA's statement in which it said that after the completion of the leagues, all tournaments in the continent, along with the domestic leagues, should end by August or be postponed.

In fact, in the meeting held on Wednesday with the Sports Minister of Italy, a medical protocol has been proposed to protect the players. Sports Minister Vincenzo Spadafora has said that he will take a decision on this by talking with other government officials.
