ITBP women soldiers patrolling China border, video went viral on Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women's Day, people have shared some inspirational stories on social media. One such video has been shared by news agency ANI, in which women soldiers of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) can be seen patrolling the border in Arunachal Pradesh. The ITBP is primarily entrusted with the task of securing the 3,488-km-long Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.

At the same time, today, Army Officer Lt Col Shikha Mehrotra recalled the time spent as a cadet at the 'Officers Training Academy' in Chennai. He said that the spirit of camaraderie along with rigorous training at the academy taught him a valuable life lesson that when a soldier is in uniform, gender discrimination ends.
