Jabalpur HC's big decision, MP-PSC 2019 results cancelled

Jabalpur: In a landmark judgment, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has cancelled the results of the preliminary examination of MP-PSC 2019. The Jabalpur High Court had challenged the decision of MP-PSC and the state government to release the results of the examination. The high court has ordered the re-release of results under the old rules of 2015, which entitle talented children from the reserved category to be included in the general category.

A bench of Justices Sujay Paul and DD Bansal had completed the hearing a few days ago and the court had reserved its verdict in the case. In its verdict delivered today, it accepted the petitioners' plea that the MP-PSC had released the results under the disputed rules.

Let us know that the government had implemented an amended rule on February 17, 2020, which prohibited the inclusion of talented students from the reserved category in the general category. Subsequently, several petitions filed had challenged the amended Act of Section 4(4) of the Reservation Act, 1994. However, the government had responded to the high court by asking for the withdrawal of the controversial rules, after which the high court had approved the release of the results of the examination. Despite this, on December 31, 2021, the results of the MP-PSC 2019 preliminary examination were made under the disputed rules.
