The Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is organized on the second day of The Shukla Paksha of the Ashadha month. This year, the day falls on July 4. On this day, the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is performed at Puri in Odisha and Dwarka Puri in Gujarat with great fanfare. Not only that, the grand rath yatras are now taken out by the devotees of Lord Jagannath all over the country, but the grandeur and beauty of the Rath Yatras of Puri and Dwarka is unpalatable. The flag on the chariot is called 'Tralokyamohini' or 'Nandi Ghosh' Rath. Balram Ji's chariot is known as 'TalDhwaj'. The flag of the chariot is called 'Unani'. The rope from which the chariot is drawn is called 'Vasuki'. The chariot of Subhadra is called PadmaDhwaj. The chariot flag is called 'Nadambik'. The rope that pulls it is called the golden crumb.
