In a fervent display of support for the upcoming consecration ceremony of Lord Ram at the majestic Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, a grand car rally was organized in Edison, New Jersey. The event, led by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) American unit, witnessed enthusiastic participation from Hindu communities in New Jersey and surrounding areas. More than 350 cars, adorned with flags of Shri Ram Temple and VHP, formed a procession chanting "Jai Shri Ram" as they traversed the streets of Edison. The rally, spanning approximately 4 miles or 6 kilometers, commenced at Papaianni Park and concluded at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School. Various Hindu organizations, including the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) and Seva International, actively promoted the event, emphasizing the significance of the consecration ceremony for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Sanjay Gupta, the lead organizer of the car rally, expressed his astonishment at the overwhelming support received from the Hindu community in America. "I never imagined such tremendous support from the Hindu community for this rally in the United States. The continuous participation in these car rallies reflects the unity and fervor among Hindu Americans for the consecration of the Ram Temple," Gupta remarked. Dr. Jay Bansal from the World Hindu Council of America highlighted the importance of the Ram Temple construction, stating that the enthusiasm and passion demonstrated by the Hindu community signify the temple's significance for Hindu society. The rally successfully conveyed a message of unity and solidarity among Hindus, showcasing images of the Ram Temple on saffron flags, Indian and American flags displayed on each car. Prior to the Edison rally, a similar grand car rally took place in Houston, Texas, where American Hindus visited 11 temples and engaged in devotional songs praising Lord Ram. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA) has also been invited to the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram on January 22. In addition to the car rally, a 5-kilometer long procession of 216 vehicles, including motorcycles, was organized in support of the Ram Temple in America. The rally had a dedicated police squad with eight motorcycles ensuring the smooth flow of the procession. The joyous atmosphere among Indian Americans regarding the Ram Temple reflects the global anticipation and excitement for the historic consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.
