NEW DELHI: After the abrogation of Section 370 of the Constitution by the Government of India from Jammu and Kashmir, the situation in the valley is slowly returning to normal. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been declared separate union territories. Both the new Union Territories will come into existence from 31st of October. The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act has been green signalled by President Ram Nath Kovind. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also issued a notification in this regard. In Jammu and Kashmir, the situation is returning to normal. Schools and colleges in all districts of Jammu have opened on Saturday after Section 144 was withdrawn. The street is witnessing a buzz. President Ram Nath Kovind has signed the reorganization law of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Under the Act, two Union Territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will come into existence from October 31. October 31 is also the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the country's first Union Home Minister, who played a key role in the merger of 565 princely states into the Republic of India after independence. Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satypal Malik has said that Eid will be celebrated with peace. He said, PM Modi's address to the nation has worked to establish peace. The conditions in the valley are peaceful. Eid will be celebrated before and after, so that the festival can be celebrated with great enthusiasm.
