Jammu: Higher Education Department commissioner Talat Parvez Rohilla on Thursday reviewed the progress of RUSA and other projects in Jammu and Kashmir. The commissioner secretary has asked to increase the use of electronic gadgets to improve the quality of teaching. He asked the concerned universities and college administration to decide the availability of study material through memory chip to under-graduate and post-graduate students. For which the funds under RUSA scheme will be used.
He said that in areas where there is a problem of internet connectivity, tablets will be made available to students. On the same occasion, Dean Academic Affairs and Coordinator Rusa Jammu University, Professor Naresh Padha informed the meeting about the detailed physical-cum-financial progress of funds sanctioned to the university under RUSA 2.0. Also, the commissioner secretary has asked the university administration to complete all the initial projects under RUSA within a certain period.
Along with this, he has also praised the initiative taken by VC University of Jammu. Subsequently, he also wished the VC of both universities for the idea of starting Research Cluster and B.Walk courses. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Kashmir University said in its statement that 10 colleges will be opened for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from the universities, the commissioner secretary made a detailed review of the RUSA projects of several colleges in Jammu and Kashmir. On this occasion, the commissioner secretary has ordered several engineering wings to complete the projects within the given time. Also, students will not face any problem during study.
