Janjaati Gaurav Diwas celebrated

The Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda is celebrated as a day of pride by every nation loving person particularly janjatis for the special significance of his life mission that has brought influential changes in their lives.

The Janjaati Gaurav Diwas was celebrated to mark the 145th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Mundi from November 8 to November 22 and concluded with a function at DAVV School of Computer Science auditorium on Sunday under the aegis of Janjaati Vikas Manch Indore.

The keynote speaker of the programme was Vaibhav Surenge, member of Akhil Bhartiya Yuva Parishad. He spoke about the struggle made by Bhagwan Birsa for the freedom of India. He said, "The historians have been unfair with the heroes of Janjaati (tribal), either the historians have not written about such heroes or they have written false things about them and misinterpreted the facts". He also said that people need to be aware of the rights of Janjaati people.

Till the last person of the tribe is not aware of their right, the tribals will have to struggle for everything in life. He said that the sacrifice of Rani Durgavati, Bhagwan Birsa Mundi, Tantiya mama Bheel, Tilak Manjhi, Komram Bheem were equal to those of the well-known freedom fighters. The programme was headed by ADM Santosh Taigore.
