Bengaluru: Former prime minister and Janata Dal (Secular) supremo HD Deve Gowda lost in 2019 Lok Sabha elections from the Tumkur parliamentary seat. Gowda’s grandson and Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil also lost to Sumalatha Ambareesh from Mandya. The family managed to somehow salvage pride as another grandson of Gowda, Prajwal Revanna, won from the Hassan constituency, the only seat JD(S) secured in the Lok Sabha. Indian servicemen will not tolerate hugging the Pakistani Army Chief: Punjab CM Prajwal on Friday told media persons that he is willing to resign from the seat and offer it to his grandfather who lost a Lok Sabha election for the first time in his political career. Prajwal said, “Today, to reinstate the confidence in the JD (S) cadre, we have to fill the gap left by Deve Gowda, therefore today before Deve Gowda and with the blessings of the people of Hassan I have decided to tender my resignation... So, by relinquishing this seat I want him to be victorious once again from Hassan with the blessings of the people and the leaders.” Gone are days of doing politics in grandfather's name: BJP's Ram Madhav In a press briefing Prajwal said, “It is important for me to do this to instill confidence in the JD (S) cadre and the party and give Deve Gowda the seat that’s rightfully his.” Prajwal won the constituency from where his father HD Revanna is also an MLA. HD Revanna is a minister in the Kumaraswamy cabinet.
