A big blow to Nitish Kumar from EC, JDU will not be able to contest in Jharkhand on its symbol

Ranchi: Bihar CM and JD(U) National President Nitish Kumar has been dealt a major blow by the Election Commission. The Commission has frozen the JD(U) symbol in the Jharkhand Assembly elections 2019. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (Jhamumo) had sought it from the Election Commission. The JMM had complained to the Election Commission that the election symbol of JD(U) and Jhammo was the same, creating confusion among the public. The JD(U) election symbol is an 'arrow' and Jhammo's election symbol is a bow.

Jhammo had filed an application with the Election Commission on June 24. The JMM said that the JD(U)'s symbol matches his party, which would confuse voters. The JMM had demanded the election commission to freeze the symbol of the JDU. Jhammo has welcomed the Election Commission's decision. Jhammo's Union General Secretary Suprio Bhattacharya said, "This is an important victory for us.

The JD(U) is going to contest the single-party elections in Jharkhand, which is part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This was announced by the party's Jharkhand state president Salkhan Murmu after consulting CM Nitish Kumar. On the other hand, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Executive Chairman Hemant Soren is set to embark on a "change journey" to look forward to a change of power in Jharkhand from August 26. While Jhammo activists are excited about the visit, the opponents are attacking the Yatra.
